Vesting determines how much of a holder's carry allocation has accrued to them at a given point in time.
On Navys, vesting is calculated automatically from a schedule set against each carry vehicle, so the split between vested and unvested carry stays accurate across every dashboard without manual tracking.
How to get here
When you log in to Navys, click Carry in the left sidebar. As a carry holder, open the Vesting sub-tab on your dashboard. As a Super Admin or Admin, vesting figures appear on the Dashboard sub-tab and in the Carry Holders table of the GP view.
Schedule types Navys supports
The Navys vesting engine is configurable and supports four schedule types:
Cliff: nothing vests until a specific date, then a defined chunk vests at once.
Linear: a fixed percentage vests each year (for example, 25% per year over four years).
Milestone: vesting tied to specific dates or fund events.
Custom breakpoint: bespoke schedules with arbitrary increments on chosen dates.
A carry vehicle has one default schedule, with the option to override at the individual holder level where a holder's terms differ. Different funds at the same firm can use different mechanics.
What you see as a holder
On your Holder dashboard:
The Holdings table reflects the split between your vested and unvested carry.
The Carry Value Over Time chart distinguishes vested from unvested value.
The Vesting sub-tab shows:
A Vesting Schedule chart visualising your vesting curve over time.
A Vesting Schedule Details table listing every milestone date, the increment vested at each date, the cumulative percentage, the current status (Vested / Upcoming), and a description (for example, Lock-up period, Year 1 vest).
What the GP sees
On the GP / Admin dashboard:
The Total Vested and Total Unvested stat cards populate from live figures.
The Carry Holders table includes a Vested % column.
Super Admins author and edit vesting schedules per carry vehicle. See Configuring a Vesting Schedule.
Note: Where no schedule has been applied to a vehicle yet, the Holdings table treats the full carry position as unvested by default.
