Where to record a valuation
Valuations are recorded from the fund's Performance tab. You apply each valuation to one or more of the fund's vehicles, so standard and carry vehicles are valued from the same place. Carry vehicles are marked with a Carry badge.
To record a valuation:
From the left sidebar, click Funds.
Click View Details on the relevant fund.
Open the Performance tab.
In the Quarterly NAV section, click Add Valuation.
Fill in:
Valuation date: the date of the valuation
Vehicles: select one or more vehicles to apply this NAV to each
Fund NAV: the total net asset value
Unit Share Price: the price of one unit at this valuation
Click Add Valuation to save.
The new rows appear immediately in the Quarterly NAV table, with columns Vehicle, Date, Fund NAV, and Unit Share Price.
Where valuations show up
Once recorded:
The Carry Value Over Time chart on each holder's Overview tab includes the new quarter's value
The Stake Value displayed for each holder reflects the new unit share price
The aggregate Total Carried At Work stat on the GP Carry Dashboard updates accordingly
Today, valuations are entered manually. This is intentional, it keeps you in control and avoids any dependency on external systems while we develop the integration layer.
In a later release, Navys will be able to pull NAV directly from fund administration platforms, so quarterly valuations flow in automatically.
Editing a valuation
You can edit a valuation by clicking into its row on the Quarterly NAV table. Every edit is recorded in the audit trail. If a fund administrator restates a quarter, you can update the original record rather than creating a new one.
